JY Studio provides trumpet lessons, trombone lessons and piano tuning by Jim Yost.  Jim earned his Bachelor of Music in 1988 from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where he studied with Marie Speziale.  He earned his Master of Music in 1999 from Miami University (Ohio) having studied with Jim Olcott.

Jim has taught band, beginning through high school for the past 30 years.  He is an ordained pastor, currently serving as Director of Music Ministries at Grace Baptist Church in Mason, Ohio.

Jim is the Assistant Director and principal flugelhorn with the Cincinnati Brass Band.  He is a member of the Music Educator’s National Conference (MENC), Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) and Association of American Educators (AAE).

Jim has been hapily married to his amazing wife, Beth for over 37 years.  Together, they have 7 daughters and 2 sons-in-law.
